THE ANTWERP JEWISH COMMUNITY

For ages Antwerp has been the home of the Jewish community. A fascinating walk through Antwerp Jerusalem.

For centuries Jews  have been very present in Antwerp.

What does it mean to be Jewish and what exactly is ‘kosher’? What makes the religion, the traditions, the life habits and festivities of our Jewish inhabitant so interesting?

You will receive an answer to those questions during this tour passing by  shops and buildings of a very perceptible Jewish community in the centre of our cosmopolitan city.

You will also learn more about the dark period of the persecution of the Jews during the Second World War.
