The walk starts at the Stadsfeestzaal (Urban Festive Hall) on Meir. From there you will walk to the square in front of the Steen. On your way your attention will be drawn to historic buildings (or spots where they used to be) that played a role during the First World War.

Other aspects will be dealt with as well: the attitude of “German” Antwerpians, important Antwerp aviation pioneers, famous writers and artists who lived in Antwerp during the war, and the issue of refugees.
